It’s time to enter queen contests

MITCHELL — Entry forms are now available for the Mitchell Persimmon Festival queen contest.
The contest will be conducted Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. in the Mitchell High School auditorium. Crowning will be on the Main Street stage at 8 p.m. Sept. 23. The sponsor fee is $30. All contestants must live within Lawrence County and be currently enrolled in a high school program.
Registration forms are available at the Greater Mitchell Chamber of Commerce office, 1494 W. Main St., Mitchell, (former Integra Bank building), in the Mitchell High School office or at Hatfield Elementary School. All entries and the sponsor fee will be accepted no later than Sept. 5. Contestants must remit the sponsor fee, a photo and the entry form to the chamber office or mail to: Persimmon Queen Contest, 897 S. Meridian Road, Mitchell, IN 47446. Entry forms for the Mini, Little and Junior Miss Persimmon pageants will be available only at the Greater Mitchell Chamber of Commerce Office, 1494 W. Main St., Mitchell, (former Integra Bank building) on Aug. 12 at 8:30 a.m. Entry forms cannot be faxed or hand delivered.
A $30 entry fee is required and space is limited to 20 girls in each age group. Each category is on a first-come, first-serve basis and will fill up within the first few days. All entry forms must be filled out, postmarked and mailed to Candi Livingston, P.O. Box 248, Mitchell, IN 47446.
All contestants must be enrolled in a Lawrence County school. The Mini contest is open to girls in grades K-2. The Little Miss contest is open to grades 3-5. The Junior Miss is open to girls in grades 6-8.
