Spring Mill State Park announces changes in parking at Tri Kappa
Candlelight tour.

Mitchell, IN. Spring Mill State Park announces that there are changes in how vehicles will be parked for the Candlelight Tour this year. It is important that individuals planning to attend this year’s event read through the changes listed below:

1. We will be filling the Nature Center parking lot first. All people parked in the lot will walk from the parking lot along Trail 2 to the entrance to the pioneer village parking lot.  There will be NO bus shuttle from this parking lot.

2. We will offer bus shuttle from the campground for campground guests only and another from the inn for inn guests only. We will be requesting to see room keys or guest tickets for meals purchased at the inn to ride the shuttle to the village from the inn.

3. There will be no parking in the swimming pool parking lot as in past years.

The Candlelight Tour has been hosted at Spring Mill for 46 years and has been a partnership between the park and the Tri Kappa sorority to promote the kick-off of the Persimmon Festival.  The changes listed above are part of an effort to encourage people to come out and enjoy the park’s amenities by walking the trails of the park. We recommend that all people attending this popular event bring a flashlight and comfortable walking shoes. We will have luminaries along portions of Trail 2 to help delineate the trail but the trail will not be lighted.

Park admission during the event is $5 per vehicle for in-state residents and $7 per vehicle for out-of-state residents. 2012 Annual Entrance Passes are also available.

For more information on this and other upcoming events contact the Park Office at 812-849-3534 or springmillstatepark@dnr.in.gov.
