Deb Cory tells me that she hopes area photographers took plenty of photos this summer that can be submitted in the annual Mitchell Persimmon Festival photo contest, which kicks off next month.

Matted 8-inch by 10-inch and 11-inch by 14-inch photos will be accepted at the Mitchell First Baptist Church’s Community Life Center from 2-4 p.m. on Sept. 23. (Take note of this date as the wrong date was printed in the annual festival book.)

Categories for this year are: People, flowers, holiday, animals, black & white, landscape/scenic, miscellaneous and this year’s theme, “Small Town Proud.”

When dropping off photographs, include your information on the back of the print/mat along with the category that the photo is entering. This is a great opportunity to share your photographic skills with the community.
